Is there anyone out there?

Many times, as I start to write a new post of this terribleness that I like to call a blog, I wonder if anyone actually reads the garbage I put out there in cyberspace.  I mean, it's a legit question.  Is there anyone that does still read this?  If there isn't, I'll know pretty quickly I think, but still.  Every time I go to start a new post, I think what's the point?  Does anyone actually care what I write, if I write?

This summer I switched back over to writing in a journal of some sort, mostly because in it I don't have to censor myself.  I can write what I want, about who I want, and no one's ever going to read it but me.  On here, I almost always censor, and maybe that's why I see what I post here as garbage that no one cares about.  I'm just not strong enough, emotionally, to write whatever I want and not care.  I also know that at some point in my life, a future potential employer could figure out this is connected to me and I certainly don't want anything that could hurt me on here (but let's be honest, as of now I still want to work in a school system, and no school system in the country has the money to cyber track potential employees).

So really- does anyone even care anymore, enough to read this?

I have the same issues re my blog. Sometimes I really have to force myszelf to write a post.

I try to post something every week, otherwise the search engines couldn't be bothered to come.

But sometimes, when I'm really stumped, blogger's block, and all that, I simply repost one of my old posts to be the latest and greatest.

Course, this only works if you have a large number of posts to fall back on (387 at last count)

I've been blogging for 4 years, and I still only average about 20 "unique" visits a day.

So it's certainly not a route to fame or fortune, especially if your content is a little different from the mainstream.

So I would say to you, keep it up. There is a point to doing it. For starters it's a good discipline to maintain a regular posting schedule.

It forces you to collect and organise your thoughts.,

It's also fun to get into the whole customising routine, eg in terms of columns, colours, typeface, and different functionaLITY.

And even "funner" to start adding audio and video

And of course, people do read it, even if the number is small.

After all, here I am, a total stranger, who "stumbled" upon your blog and who is commenting on your post.

So obviously, at least 1 person (2 including Annie) cares enough to read it.

Sorry for double comment, but I forgot to mention that having a very low readership is a good thing: an opportunity not a problem./ Because the challenge of building your readership can be very exciting and a great learning experience. (I learned how to code in html, eg, complete without intending to)
