"Hasn't Happened for the Longest Time" is a song by Billy Joel, and one that until this weekend, had not heard in close to 10 years. I was driving around town this past weekend, and I heard this song on the radio twice. And as soon as I heard it, I took me back to the summer I was probably 13. And I just started having all these crazy memories come back to me, things I hadn't thought about in eleven years... isn't that crazy? It took me back to my first crush, and not the things that made him an ass, but the good things. Took me back to me and my three friends that I grew up with, all on this one trip together, hanging out.
It's funny how little things like a song can bring back memories that have been hidden for years and years. That one song makes me smile big, and remember being in East Tennessee in August, camping and kayaking, hiking, all those funny campy things that kids do, or at least did when i was young (I sound so OLD!). Just thought that was funny.
